Royalties that calculate themselves — and survive an audit

Chasing spreadsheets from every location is how royalty revenue leaks. Franexis accrues royalties automatically as revenue is collected, against versioned rules you control, onto statements both sides can see — with disputes, late fees, and QuickBooks sync built in.

    Capabilities

    What Royalties & Finance covers

    Configurable rule engine

Define royalty rules per brand with versioning, and preview calculations before they go live.

    Automatic accrual

Royalties accrue on collected revenue as payments land, onto the month's draft statement — with double-collection guards and database-level idempotency.

    Statements & invoices

Monthly royalty statements, invoices, payments, and receipts, all with generated PDFs and secure download links.

    Disputes & late fees

A structured dispute flow keeps disagreements on the record, and automated late-fee handling keeps terms enforced consistently.

    Referral commissions

Per-source commission rules — flat or percentage of first job — accrue automatically on conversion or first paid invoice.

    QuickBooks Online sync

Connect QuickBooks at the franchisor and franchisee level: royalty invoices post to the franchisor's books with the franchisee as the customer, while each location's client invoices sync to that franchisee's own company file — kept matched and idempotent by an entity map, with a background sync worker and a Sync Health view.

Both sides see the same numbers

Franchisees see exactly how their statement was calculated; franchisors see accrual across the network in real time. Shared visibility is what turns royalty collection from a monthly argument into a non-event.

    FAQ

    Royalties & Finance questions

How does automatic royalty accrual work?

When a payment is recorded, Franexis applies your versioned royalty rules to the collected revenue and accrues the result onto that month's draft statement — idempotently, so replays and retries can't double-charge.

    Does Franexis integrate with QuickBooks?

Yes — QuickBooks Online connects at both franchisor and franchisee levels, and the sync is entity-aware: royalty invoices export to the franchisor's QuickBooks company with the franchisee as the customer, while job invoices export to the owning franchisee's own company file. An entity map keeps records matched across retries, a background worker does the posting, and the Sync Health view shows what has and hasn't synced.

    Can franchisees dispute a statement?

Yes — disputes are a built-in workflow attached to statements, so disagreements stay documented and resolvable instead of living in email.
